POSITION SUMMARY
The COO / Vice President Global Operations is in charge of end-to-end operations at all sites, in particular
- The Vice President Global Operations is responsible for the safety, quality, delivery and costs associated with producing and other products within the facility.
- The position has responsibility for all direct labor associated with manufacturing, assembly, test, and inspection of product
- The position leads the necessary indirect quality, purchasing, planning, and manufacturing engineering resources to accomplish their objectives to deliver quality product to customers on a timely basis.
- The position reports to the CEO
RESPONSIBILITY
- Provide quality excellence with a state of the art quality system and robust processes leading to defect free products and an organization that operates in substantial quality compliance.
- Establish a Continuous Improvement culture and drive Gross Margin improvement to achieve 500-700 bps of improvement by 2022
- Ensure high service levels while reducing inventory.
- Increase profitability with a focus on tube set production, consisting of plastic injection molding, tube set assembly and packing in a clean room environment.
- Deploy change through lean management and operational excellence methods, move production from a functional to a value stream based organization, from push to pull and to small lot sizes using integrated supply chains with vendor managed inventory.
- Implement automation in injection molding and assembly and drive material cost reductions with Value Analysis/Value Engineering together with suppliers.
- Integrate operations of acquired companies into the organization and leverage local competencies, develop own LCR location by upgrading eventually acquired facility.
- Retain and develop local operations talent, recruit additional expertise and prepare the team for long term growth

- 15 years leadership experience with building strong teams, managing change on shop floor as well on management level and recruiting talent.
- 5+ years’ experience in the Medical Device Industry and built quality excellence based on state of the art quality tools and systems in an FDA regulated environment.
- managed a plant with clean rooms or with very quality sensitive high volume products and device manufacturing; A thorough understanding of cost drivers in disposable manufacturing having managed a full P&L, and standard costing.
- moved a functional oriented organization into value streams or significantly improved a value stream based organization by layout improvements and integration of indirect functions into value streams.
- established pull principle based manufacturing; has taken a customer or supplier relationship from adverse logistic behavior to an integrated logistic behavior.
- successfully automated labor intense, quality sensitive processes.
- He/She shows a high quality and customer driven mindset with a good balance between strategic and hands-on orientation.
- He/She is accustomed to driving growth, delivering results and achieving operational excellence, while motivating and developing their team.
PIVOTAL EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
Medtech Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in the Medical Device Industry and built quality excellence based on state of the art quality tools and systems in an FDA regulated environment.
Operations Management
