Background

Following the sudden departure of the previous incumbent, our client sought a candidate who:

  • brought international insurance experience, particularly in underwriting and sales & marketing
  • possessed extensive expertise in building and developing direct and partner businesses
  • had previous P&L responsibility at a property and casualty insurer

 

Initially, it was unclear whether the position would be an interim role or a permanent position as managing director. However, the candidate impressed so much that he was offered a permanent position immediately.

 

Job Description

The managing director will focus on the further development of the business in Germany.

Key tasks include:

  • Developing the dedicated team to drive future growth and deliver high-quality services
  • Selecting and implementing a new ERP system in close coordination with the parent company
  • Further developing strategic sales and marketing
  • Further developing the customer and product portfolio

Required Experience:

  • Management and P&L experience at a property insurer
  • Substantial property insurance experience (acquisition, underwriting, policy and claims processing, etc.)
  • Practical experience in selecting and implementing a new ERP system for a property insurer
  • Professional experience in the Netherlands
  • Fluency in Dutch
