Our client, an international management consultancy, is looking for an experienced Expert (m/f/d) in Procurement/Category Management for High-End/Luxury Fashion Retailers ad interim to implement benchmarking, efficiency improvement, and best practices in procurement and category management.


Note: This project is part of a tender. The actual assignment depends on whether our client wins the project. Due to the tendering process, the decision may take more time.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct benchmarking analysis, e.g., spend per FTE, spend per category, FTE per category
  • Identify best practices in procurement and category management, especially in terms of organizational structures, processes, roles & responsibilities, and supplier interactions
  • Identify efficiency opportunities and optimization measures in processes, systems, and organization
  • Support in conducting focus interviews and workshops to identify efficiency levers and optimization measures in procurement and category management
  • Advise and support the internal team in implementing efficiency measures and process improvements

Requirements & Expertise

Requirements

  • Many years of experience in procurement/category management in the high-end/luxury fashion retail sector or in department stores (e.g., Oberpollinger, KaDeWe, Alsterhaus, Breuninger, Le Bon Marché, Galeries Lafayette, Selfridges, Harrods, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Isetan, Mitsukoshi, Lane Crawford, Globus, De Bijenkorf)
  • Extensive expertise in procurement/category management processes (e.g., trend analysis, campaign management, assortment planning, pricing, forecasting/demand planning)
  • Experience in analyzing and optimizing organizational structures, particularly in defining role profiles and work division within departments and product areas
  • Experience in benchmarking and identifying best practices in procurement and category management
  • Several years of experience as Head of Department or Project Manager in procurement/category management within the luxury fashion industry or leading department store chains
