Our client, a leading-edge provider of e-commerce solutions, is looking for a dynamic, high caliber CFO (m/f/d) ad interim, with the option to convert to a permanent position.
To support the planned growth strategy in a focused manner, a strong CFO, as Managing Director (part of the “Geschäftsführung”), is needed as part of the diverse executive team. Whereby the CEO will focus on front-end (transactions) and the CFO will focus on back-end (cash-in). This role will be responsible for:
- Leading the teams in Finance & Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Controlling, Legal and Support IT
- Driving financial savviness across the organization, enabling, and supporting the executive team’s decisions
- Ensuring global compliance of the business operations and anticipating and managing potential and ongoing business risks
- Optimizing treasury processes to generate compliant margin improvements
- Quantifying the company’s value creation roadmap and sponsoring the company wide PMO (“Value Creation Office”) to provide transparency on execution
- Optimizing existing budgeting & forecasting, controlling, and reporting processes and outputs (internally but also externally visà-vis investor and debt providers)
- Establish & finetune a proper Management reporting reflecting the core KPIs per division to be monitored
- Managing banking and debt provider relationships
- Leading M&A processes, acquisitions, and integrations of add-ons, in close cooperation with private equity owner
- Driving margin improvements, cash optimization initiatives
- Implementing a BI tool, setting up the required analyses and ensuring company-wide adoption
- Playing a vital role in an anticipated exit process in the future

Requirements
- Experienced CFO or Finance leader from a scaling, yet profitable software / technology company
- Strong track record with global exposure, ideally with extensive experience in North America and Europe; German speaking would be ideal, fluency in English is a must
- Experience in payment tech industry or treasury management industry is preferred
- In depth understanding of global currency and tax regimes, capital flows in payment solutions and compliance
- Track record of sustainable and profitable business growth on a global scale as well as proven ability to drive change and build / transform an organization
- Experience in setting up and driving PMOs, here called “Value Creation Office” to ensure and monitor progress along the defined value creation roadmap
- Demonstrated experience of bringing data-driven decision making to an organization
- Proven background in breaking down a strategy into actionable tasks and driving an organization’s accountability during execution
- In-depth understanding of how to form a scalable organization and a high-performance, KPI- / results-driven organizational culture
- Outstanding leadership skills and great track record in remote management at a global scale is required – experience in forming teams across offices (and continents) and ability to energize the organization
- Experience in M&A and post-M&A integration
- Experience in working with PE-firms and understanding the PE value creation levers
- Experience in selling a business as part of an exit process, potentially even IPO
