Our client, a UK-based (Manchester) catalogue distributor for electronics, IT and accessories, etc. will strengthen the finance / controlling function by establishing a CFO (m/f/d) - permanent - . Initially it is required that the candidate works 4-5 days per week in Manchester, afterwards a flexible presence is required. However it is not required that the candidate moves to Manchester / UK.

Challenges:

Historically the company grew internationally via buy&build (relative autonomous entities, without a common customer base, a synchronised product portfolio, one employer brand, a united IT-landscape, etc.). The challenges for the top management team (including the CFO) over the next years will be

• to develop a customer centric sales and interconnected Multi-Channel Organisation
  
• to create logical business units with homogenous go-2-market approach and strong shared sales support increase leadership and entrepreneurial spirit as well as increase share of digital order entry and standardise processes to increase efficiency
  
• to establish data driven sales & marketing with consistent KPIs and a simple customer segmentation approach
  
• to optimise onsite services to encourage digital sales as well as scalability of business model
  

The mission is to complete the path of digital professionalisation towards a modern data driven customer centric multichannel company, i.e. full focus on operational excellence in the core processes of the customer experience will create sustainable value.

A CFO is required, who has the drive, skills and mind set

• to build around these operational cornerstones a solid decision driven management reporting
  
• to identify cost savings / productive improvements, etc.
  
• to steer, monitor and executive re-organisational initiatives
  
• to liaise actively with all relevant stakeholders (local management in the respective markets, auditors, shareholders, banks, etc.)   
  

 The CFO manages a team of 9 direct reports ranging from Head of General Ledger, Head of BI&Pricing, Head of HR, Head of Finance Reporting, etc.

• Excellent data driven CFO (UK-GAAP / IFRS) with best practice experience in the Multi-Channel-Retail, B2B ecommerce business
  
• Data Driven (controlling / BI) managerial approach
  
• Led successfully Re-org. / Performance Improvement Programs in the past
  
• Potential / capacity to also take over the IT & logistics function midterm
  
• Positive experience with Anglo-Saxon management culture
